Fall...

Mon Oct 13, 2003, 4:51 AM
Spring and Autumn are my favorite seasons. Spring because everything comes alive after being dormant for so many months. There's color everywhere and people seem happier. Fall is a favorite because of the colors. I love taking a long drive just to look at the foliage. Reds, Yellows and every color between the two. One of my favorite memories is from my honeymoon. My husband and I spent it in North Conway, NH. The view was amazing, especially towards the end of the week, as all the trees were turning. It looked like a patchwork quilt, and I'll never forget how stunning it was. Words just don't do it justice.

Hi...Melissa..

Thanks for the comments on my necklaces..I've been wanting to get my hands on some brighter more opaque stones for a while and was finally able to..it's been fun :)

As for the scanner..I have a Hewlet (Hewlit?) Packard Scan Jet 3400C. It seems to take pretty good detail..only prob I have is shadows. My dig camera is a Canon powershot s10 and it's only 2.1 mega pixels. I got it a few years ago and it's always worked great for only being 2.1 mega pixels. My sis just got a newer Canon with 5 mega pixels and it is SUPER clear. I'm dieing to take some pics of jewelry with that.

But my recent understanding is if you are in the market for a dig camera..the higher the mega pixels, the clearer the image. Not sure how it works with a scanner though. I just know my lexmark scanner will not do detail at all. My problem with taking digital pics of jewelry is I don't know how to set up the lighting and it would often affect the true color of the jewelry even worse..so the scanner has been the best best. I've heard that a lot of jewelry artists use the scanner to take pics of thier jewelry as well.

Looking forward to seeing your new stuff!

The group of pictures I am submitting now were painted a long time ago , some in my teens and some about 20 years ago . People tend to forget that I am , or was , a professional artist and that I taught Art back in Scotland . When painting pays for your food you have to be prolific . I am glad you like my work though and am very pleased to have your lovely comments , Melissa. All the Best
